Job Overview

Finance Support Specialist

As a vital member of our finance team, you will report directly to the Site Accountant. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the precise and timely preparation of financial statements, adhering to the established company policies and procedures. This role encompasses the monthly reconciliation of essential balance sheet accounts, identifying any control deficiencies, and implementing corrective measures as necessary. You will also provide essential support and documentation for the accounting team, site director, and other management personnel, ensuring compliance with Group, manufacturer, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

The position will require you to engage in various tasks while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the finance function, including:

Sales Ledger Management

  • Preparation of daily financial deposits
  • Reconciliation of sales ledger accounts
  • Management of credit accounts
  • Preparation of month-end financial statements

Purchase Ledger Management

  • Processing of supplier invoices
  • Verification and coding of invoices
  • Scanning and archiving of invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Recording of receipts and payments from bank transactions
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting the VAT return and Intrastat submissions
  • Assisting the site accountant in preparing monthly management accounts for review by the site director
  • Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a dynamic finance office
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of working independently and managing workloads effectively to meet deadlines

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with accounting software such as Sage is advantageous.

Comprehensive training will be provided on systems and processes to ensure compliance with Donnelly Group's standards and industry regulations.
