Job Title: Head of Payroll and Pensions Leader

Job Summary:

The Head of Payroll and Pensions Leader will be responsible for managing and leading the Payroll Team to ensure high-quality and cost-effective payroll services throughout the employee lifecycle. This includes establishing and maintaining procedures for accurate payroll processing, interpreting legislative changes, and providing payroll advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Team Management: Manage and lead the Payroll Team to ensure efficient and effective payroll processing.
  2. Payroll Services: Ensure high-quality and cost-effective payroll services throughout the employee lifecycle.
  3. Procedure Establishment: Establish and maintain procedures for accurate payroll processing.
  4. Legislative Interpretation: Interpret legislative changes and provide payroll advice.
  5. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and year-end procedures.
  6. Pension Plans: Oversee pension plans and packages.
  7. Pay Review Cycles: Lead the implementation of annual pay review cycles.
  8. Bonus Plans: Manage bonus plans organization-wide.
  9. Compensation and Benefits: Ensure compensation and benefit practices comply with employment laws.
  10. Vendor Relationships: Build relationships with external vendors for favorable contracts.

Requirements:

  • Technical Payroll Experience: Extensive technical payroll and pension experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading and developing teams.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
  • Payroll Software Proficiency: Proficiency in payroll software systems and relevant technology.
  • Spreadsheet Skills: Ability in spreadsheet software for data analysis.
  • Financial Acumen: Financial acumen.

Location:

Glasgow, with a hybrid office schedule (3 days a week in-office)
