Job Description

Jenson Fisher Consulting Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Payroll Lead to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive payroll and pensions service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Function Leadership: Lead the effective operation of the payroll function and ensure that all relevant payroll deadlines are met.
  • Payroll Policy and Procedure Management: Ensure that all policies, processes, and procedures relating to payroll and employment tax are reviewed and maintained regularly in line with legislative or best practice changes.
  • Payroll Expertise: Work with the payroll team and with the wider finance and HR team to provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of pensions, employment, and benefits tax, National Insurance, and other associated taxes.
  • Payroll Reconciliation: Ensure the full reconciliation of payroll to report accurately to HMRC and pensions providers.
  • System Integration: Ensure the full reconciliation between Payroll reporting system and Finance system.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Produce relevant data analysis and reporting on all areas of payroll.
  • Third-Party Submissions: Be responsible for submissions of relevant data to third parties such as HMRC, ONS, Pensions, etc.
  • Auditor Queries: Deal with all auditor queries.
  • Team Management: Manage and motivate all direct reports.
  • Team Development: Coach, mentor, and support the team to enable them to perform to the highest standard to contribute towards achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
Main Requirements:
  • Payroll Experience: Highly experienced Payroll professional.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous supervisory/management experience.
  • Pensions Knowledge: Detailed knowledge and experience of pensions and autoenrolment.
  • Work Ethic: Extremely motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail.
  • IT Skills: Excellent IT skills including Excel.
