About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Support Worker to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction and smoking cessation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support and guidance to service users, assisting them in developing and implementing care plans tailored to their specific needs.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops, fostering a supportive environment for individuals to share experiences and learn coping mechanisms.
  • Build strong relationships with service users, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and non-judgemental support.
  • Collaborate with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Promote community links and networks, connecting individuals with resources and opportunities for ongoing support.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working within mental health and/or addictions settings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client recovery principles and treatment pathways in addictions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with service users.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in group facilitation and voluntary work within the field of addictions and/or mental health.
  • Knowledge of benefits and employment systems.
  • Fluency in additional languages.

Other Requirements

  • Non-smoker, abstinent from smoking for at least one year.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required by the needs of the service.
