The Role: Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals on their journey towards recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and other professionals.
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities that promote recovery, social integration, and personal growth.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals in need.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues, substance use disorders, and the recovery process.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in delivering training on motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or other relevant recovery models.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and harm minimization principles.
