The Role: Support Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals on their journey towards recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and other professionals.
- Facilitate group sessions and activities that promote recovery, social integration, and personal growth.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals in need.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues, substance use disorders, and the recovery process.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in delivering training on motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or other relevant recovery models.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and harm minimization principles.
