About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient Mental Health service at Parklands Hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive team, focusing on holistic OT practices. Whether you are a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or someone looking to transition into mental health, we welcome your application.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients by applying evidence-based and user-centered principles for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop and execute appropriate discharge procedures, ensuring seamless transitions to community care and liaising with relevant agencies.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to unregistered staff members, supporting their professional development in the field of occupational therapy.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and development of our Occupational Therapy Service within the hospital setting.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy students during their placements, providing mentorship and practical experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with community mental health teams and care partners to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for service users.
  • Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through training opportunities and actively share insights with the wider team.
  • Engage in regular supervision and appraisal processes, reflecting on your practice and identifying areas for growth.
