About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Basingstoke. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with severe and enduring mental illness, supporting their recovery journey.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing expert assessment, guidance, and recommendations within a multidisciplinary team setting. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivering evidence-based, client-centered occupational therapy interventions to referred clients.
  • Conducting functional assessments and supporting funding applications.
  • Managing a small caseload of Care Coordinators alongside your focused Occupational Therapy caseload.
  • Actively participating in the Shared Care rota.
  • Promoting best practice within the MDT, including care planning.
  • Supervising OT students and providing education and upskilling to community support workers.
  • Taking lead responsibility for key projects or subject matter within the division.

About You

We welcome applications from diverse Occupational Therapy backgrounds, whether you are looking to change direction or develop your career within mental health. You will possess:

  • A Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy.
  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Postgraduate level study/training.
  • Training in the use of standardized occupational therapy assessment tools (e.g., MOHO, VdT MoCA, COPM).
