About This Role
Are you passionate about empowering children and young people, supporting their families within homes, schools, and communities?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our innovative and friendly Childrens Therapy Service team in North Hampshire. You will work with children aged 0-19 years old who have physical disabilities and coordination difficulties.
Our Approach
The Children's Therapy Service offers universal, targeted, and specialist support. To ensure our Occupational Therapists deliver evidence-based interventions, we provide a comprehensive training package tailored to the clinical pathway you will primarily be working in. This may include courses such as Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (CO-OP), Bi-Manual and Modified Constraint Therapy, or Postural Management (subject to availability). We encourage continuous professional development through quality improvement projects, internal training programs, and clinical supervision.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide specialist, evidence-based, and outcome-focused assessments and interventions for children with physical disabilities and coordination difficulties.
- Support parents and education settings in delivering targeted interventions to empower them in supporting children with additional needs.
- Contribute to a team environment that emphasizes occupationally focused, family-centered, and evidence-based care.
- Develop skills in approaches such as Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance, Modified Constraint Therapy, and Occupational Coaching, Postural Management.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who holds a degree in Occupational Therapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Previous experience working with children and/or experience in community, learning disabilities, or neurology within a qualified occupational therapy role is desirable but not essential.
