Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Registered Nurse to enhance and validate rare kidney disease information at various Kidney Centres. This role involves collaborating with participating Centres to improve the accuracy and thoroughness of data in the Registry of Rare Kidney Diseases (RaDaR) and, where feasible, to recruit patients diagnosed with C3G and IC-MPGN from hospital records into this registry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with essential stakeholders, including UKKA colleagues and the participating Kidney Centres, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the rare disease datasets maintained in the RaDaR registry.

2. Build effective relationships with key contacts at each assigned Centre to formulate a plan for accessing relevant medical records and biopsy reports.

3. Partner with the RaDaR senior data manager to perform audits on the data for pertinent rare disease groups, identifying gaps and inaccuracies.

4. Conduct site visits to relevant Centres, working with key contacts to prioritize data items for enrichment activities.

5. Coordinate with UK Renal Registry contacts to obtain data completeness reports and guidance on locating necessary data items.

6. Cross-reference local records with data held in the RaDaR registry to identify discrepancies.

7. Where inaccuracies or gaps are found, manually enrich the data by adding or transcribing information.

8. Conduct follow-up audits with the RaDaR senior data manager to ensure improvements in data quality.

9. Provide regular updates and reports to the senior project manager and relevant stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive and motivated approach, demonstrating initiative and creativity. A solid understanding of data management and renal terminology is essential. Proven IT skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines are required.

We offer a comprehensive induction program for new hires and are committed to your professional growth. Our organization prioritizes the well-being of our staff through supportive initiatives and regular team engagement activities.
