Position Overview
The Lead Clinical Research Nurse will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing the execution of a diverse array of clinical trials, alongside managing the clinical research personnel within designated specialties. The individual in this role will primarily focus on In-Patient trials, although occasional involvement in other specialties may be necessary to ensure the seamless operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will bring specialized expertise, skills, and experience in clinical research, serving as a valuable resource to guide and support all stakeholders engaged in clinical trials. The Lead Clinical Research Nurse will possess the ability to independently plan, execute, organize, and oversee multiple concurrent research initiatives. They will cultivate collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams across the organization and other relevant local and national entities. The individual will be responsible for coordinating and managing the study portfolio, ensuring recruitment targets are met in alignment with performance and monitoring objectives.
Role Specifics
This position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated and highly motivated professional to join the Clinical Trials Team as a Lead Clinical Research Nurse. The incumbent will be tasked with coordinating and managing the execution of clinical trials within the Haematology Research team, which is engaged in a variety of academic and industry-sponsored clinical trials addressing all aspects of Haematological malignancies.
The Lead Clinical Research Nurse will spearhead the delivery of clinical trials and research projects in partnership with patients, caregivers, the multidisciplinary team, and sponsors. The individual will ensure that patients receive the highest standard of care, consistent with the organization's vision, policies, and procedures. A comprehensive understanding of establishing and managing both commercial and non-commercial studies is essential, as is the ability to foster relationships with local Principal and Chief Investigators.
Essential Qualifications
The Lead Clinical Research Nurse must demonstrate the capability to autonomously plan, implement, and manage multiple research projects while providing expert knowledge, skills, and experience to support all participants in clinical trials. Although this role is primarily focused on the Haematology specialty, flexibility and adaptability to work across various specialties will be required, necessitating a high degree of self-motivation and confidence.
