Role Overview

As an Enterprise Risk Strategist, you will be instrumental in implementing the organizational risk management framework, assisting leadership in effectively identifying and monitoring potential risks in alignment with the company's risk appetite. Your role will involve the creation of tools, templates, frameworks, and reporting mechanisms to facilitate risk discussions throughout the organization, while ensuring that risk information related to both Corporate and Divisional risks is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update risk dashboards, risk maps, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and other relevant documentation to reflect ongoing risk assessments and discussions.
  • Foster a continuous risk awareness culture within the organization by collaborating with the Head of Risk Management and other senior leaders to conduct risk workshops and meetings.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with risk owners across various departments, aiding them in understanding and monitoring evolving risk profiles and the implications of KRIs and risk management actions.
  • Contribute to the regulatory reporting process by assisting in the development of disclosures related to Principal Risks & Uncertainties for the Annual Report.
  • Stay informed about new and emerging trends in Risk Management through external networks, evaluating their relevance to the organization and integrating them into operational practices as necessary.
  • Lead the development of responses to corporate governance requirements, particularly those outlined by regulatory bodies, and assess their implications for the organization.
  • Own and enhance tools, templates, frameworks, and reporting structures to support risk discussions across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with other risk assurance and control teams within the organization to streamline processes and improve overall standards.
  • Address inquiries from business stakeholders by providing independent risk insights and coordinating necessary support.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in facilitating risk management discussions and workshops across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and control environments.
  • Experience in complex operational settings; retail experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain robust stakeholder relationships at various seniority levels.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the impact of risks to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in report writing.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Risk Management frameworks, industry trends, and external developments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and acumen.
  • Excellent time management and project management capabilities to ensure timely and quality delivery of work.
