About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care and management to patients living with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care and management to patients with diabetes, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Conduct training and education sessions for nursing staff, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals on diabetes management and care.
  • Support the development and implementation of diabetes services and policies within the organization.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in a relevant field, such as nursing or a related healthcare discipline.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment, preferably in diabetes care.
  • Knowledge of diabetes services and policies, including current best practices and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
