Job Overview

An outstanding opportunity is available for an Assistant Ward Manager/Charge Nurse within the B4 Neurosurgery and C4 Neurology departments. We are seeking a dedicated professional to assist in leading and supporting our nursing team while coordinating patient flow across various units, including B4 Neurosurgery, C4 Neurology, T4 Neuro high care, ICU, Theatres, and external organizations. The ideal candidate will frequently oversee the clinical area, ensuring that the quality of care and the environment in which it is delivered are upheld to the highest standards. Previous experience in Neurosurgery and Neurology is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

In the B4 Neurosurgery and C4 Neurology units, we care for patients undergoing intricate surgeries related to the brain and spinal cord, as well as those who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. We also manage patients with various neurological disorders and conduct video telemetry. Our commitment lies in delivering exceptional care to our patients while also supporting their families and caregivers in a challenging yet nurturing acute hospital environment. As an Assistant Ward Manager/Charge Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment, planning, and implementation of care plans with minimal supervision from senior staff and will oversee daily ward operations in the absence of the Ward Manager. The successful candidate will supervise students and junior staff, providing guidance and motivational feedback. Proficiency in recognizing and responding to emergencies in the clinical setting is essential, as is the ability to guide others in similar situations. Continuous improvement of expertise and professionalism is expected as you grow in your role as an Assistant Ward Manager/Charge Nurse.
