An outstanding opportunity is available for an Assistant Ward Manager on the B4 Neurosurgery and C4 Neurology units. We are seeking a dedicated professional to assist in leading and supporting our nursing team while managing the patient flow across various departments including Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuro high care, ICU, Theatres, and external organizations. The ideal candidate will frequently oversee the clinical area, ensuring that the quality of care and the environment in which it is delivered meet our high standards. Previous experience in Neurosurgery and Neurology is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

In the B4 Neurosurgery and C4 Neurology wards, we care for patients undergoing intricate surgical procedures involving the brain and spinal cord, as well as those with traumatic brain injuries and various neurological disorders. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care while supporting patients' families and caregivers in a challenging yet nurturing acute hospital environment. As an Assistant Ward Manager, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and implementation of care plans with minimal supervision from senior staff, and will oversee daily ward operations in the absence of the Ward Manager. You will also supervise students and junior staff, providing guidance and motivational feedback. Proficiency in recognizing and responding to emergencies is essential, and you will be expected to foster your own expertise and professionalism while developing in your role.
