A position has become available for a Specialty Registrar in Neurology at the STRH level within the Neurosurgery department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual keen on pursuing a career in neurology.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join two current specialist registrars under the guidance of consultants, overseeing the inpatient neurology ward and junior medical team, as well as participating in outpatient clinics and day unit activities. Additionally, the candidate will be part of the on-call rota during evenings.

This role provides exposure to a comprehensive range of acute and chronic neurological conditions, along with training opportunities to collaborate with fellow registrars in the department. The candidate will also have the chance to cultivate their own interests or projects aligned with departmental needs.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently when necessary
  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification
  • MRCP (UK) Part 1 at the time of application and MRCP full diploma
  • UK ACCS
  • Demonstrated experience in various acute medical specialties
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher degrees such as MSc, PhD, or MD
  • Understanding of NHS management and resources
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
