Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior HR Director to lead and manage our HR team, overseeing HR Business Partners and HR Operations. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence the HR strategy across the University of Oxford, aligning it with our organisational goals and fostering a future-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire and develop the HR team to deliver exceptional HR services, fostering a positive, resilient learning culture.
  • Drive forward-thinking workforce planning initiatives, ensuring organisational resilience and growth.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of HR systems, policies and processes, ensuring compliance with legal standards and alignment with best practices.
  • Develop and elevate our employee value proposition (EVP) by innovating employee experiences and promoting well-being across the School.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a credible and trusted senior HR partner across the School and the wider University.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing HR functions within a commercial environment, demonstrating impactful decision-making and a commitment to core values.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to build consensus across diverse teams, bringing innovation and a continuous improvement mindset to HR processes.
  • Significant experience in providing generalist HR services in complex organisations.
