About the Role
Hays Senior Finance is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and reliable financial information to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, draft annual statutory accounts, and cash forecasts to senior management and the board of directors.
- Develop and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage a small finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial objectives.
- Collaborate with operational and commercial functions to ensure finance supports business growth and development.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, manage daily and weekly cash forecasts, and maintain accurate bank reconciliations.
- Develop and present reports for monthly commercial meetings, manage forecasting and budgeting processes, and ensure sales invoices are raised in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with excellent skills in IT relating to accounting systems and management reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of developing management reporting systems and processes.
- Ability to build relationships on a cross-functional basis and manage a small team within finance.
- Commercial awareness, with an ability to manage detail, and a high level of drive and determination.
