Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Band 4 Clinical Support Practitioner. This role is situated within the therapy team, specifically in the front door therapy unit. The successful candidate will have the chance to engage with our emergency department and medical assessment units.

Our objective is to enhance an individual's capabilities, concentrating on patient-focused goals while facilitating a secure discharge from healthcare facilities. Through effective multidisciplinary teamwork and robust connections with community partners, our supportive team collaborates to assist patient flow, ensuring a seamless transition between hospital and community care.

This position is well-suited for individuals with prior experience as a therapy assistant (in either Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy) who possess the necessary qualifications to commence at Band 4. It is also ideal for those aspiring to advance their careers to this level, with training opportunities available to aid in this development.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to collaborate within a team to manage a designated workload (within their scope of practice), maintain accurate records, and take accountability for their actions. The role necessitates the ability to work independently, with close supervision and support from qualified team members, as well as integration within the broader multidisciplinary team.

Opportunities will be available to participate in service enhancements and training, and the post holder will assist in the development and skill enhancement of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff, including assistants, apprentices, and students.

Responsibilities include evaluating patient progress and utilizing personal judgment to adjust treatment plans within their scope of practice.

Administrative and housekeeping duties will also be part of the role to support the Therapy service.

The post holder will be expected to work on Bank Holidays and weekends as part of a scheduled rota.
