About the Role

We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our stroke team as a Stroke Care Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients with stroke symptoms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage all stroke referrals and identify patients eligible for reperfusion therapies.
  • Perform specialist stroke assessments, including the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and dysphagia assessments.
  • Work autonomously to formulate clinical management plans in line with current guidelines.
  • Participate in active research trials and audit programmes.
  • Provide specialist stroke training to members of the stroke multidisciplinary team and other clinical specialties.

Requirements
  • Substantial post-registration relevant experience.
  • Current Professional registration within the area of practice.
  • NHSS qualification.
  • Post-registration qualification or training relevant to the specialty.
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Registered Independent Non-Medical Prescriber ALS Provider.
  • Dysphagia Assessment Skills.
  • Evidence of teaching, supervision, and assessment skills.
