Position Overview

We are seeking a Risk & Controls Manager to enhance our operations at GroupM. This role is integral to the EMEA Risk & Controls team, reporting directly to the Associate Risk & Controls Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of ethics and integrity across the region by providing training and guidance on critical topics such as anti-bribery, internal controls, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in risk and controls, providing thought leadership within the region.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships within the Risk & Controls team and local markets, collaborating effectively with colleagues across GroupM and WPP.
  • Assist in the design and execution of financial, operational, and compliance controls in accordance with the WPP Internal Control framework.
  • Develop and implement ongoing quality reviews and control monitoring programs as a second line of defense for the markets supported.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for continuous improvement, including the integration of technology to address evolving challenges.
  • Communicate WPP & GroupM policies and control requirements clearly to the business, ensuring updates are understood.
  • Provide support and guidance for significant changes or strategic initiatives requiring control implementation.
  • Strategically assess the business to develop sustainable solutions that enhance the control environment and streamline processes.
  • Coordinate audit and compliance activities with relevant teams, ensuring effective communication with internal and external audit groups.
  • Oversee internal control and risk management processes, including business risk assessments and internal control self-certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years in industry or consulting focused on risk and controls, compliance, or audit.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in SOX compliance, IFRS, and PCAOB standards.
  • Skilled in assessing business risks and evaluating internal control systems.
  • Proven ability to enhance business relationships while ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adaptable and willing to take ownership of new responsibilities.
  • Competent in Excel.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous, given our operations across multiple countries.
