Job Overview

Alexander Steele Recruitment is collaborating with a leading innovator in the food manufacturing sector. As the company continues to expand, they are seeking to hire a New Product Development Manager to join their advanced facility.

A competitive salary of approximately £50,000 is available for this position, along with outstanding opportunities for career advancement.

Position Responsibilities:

In the role of NPD Manager, you will take charge of a variety of New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) initiatives from initial concept through to market launch, aimed at delivering high-quality products for diverse clients, including retailers and food service providers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with the NPD team and other relevant departments on customer briefs and presenting concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Articulating new product ideas with compelling justifications for their launch.
  • Working closely with various departments to assess costings and the feasibility of new offerings.
  • Organizing and overseeing factory trials and initial production runs.
  • Conducting market research and necessary product testing as required.
  • Leading and mentoring NPD Technologists in preparing customer presentations, including sample creation, cost analysis, and documentation.
  • Gathering feedback from client meetings and ensuring effective communication with site teams, taking necessary actions.
  • Managing all critical timelines to guarantee timely delivery of projects.
  • Staying informed about global, national, and local food trends to ensure the development of market-leading products.
  • Maintaining knowledge of legislative requirements pertinent to the industry.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable role within a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
  • A degree in food science, innovation, or a related field.
  • A creative individual with a passion for food, possessing a refined palate and a deep understanding of flavor profiles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
