Position Overview:

We are seeking a Lead Underwriting Specialist to become a vital part of our Specie and Fine Art division. In this role, you will oversee the financial performance of our Specie and Fine Art offerings by evaluating new opportunities, managing renewals, and making necessary midterm adjustments. Your responsibilities will include assessing the adequacy of rates for all business transactions, implementing and reviewing strategic initiatives, and providing performance reports as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the underwriting process for a designated Line of Business to enhance profitability, growth, and customer retention.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory controls in all business dealings.
  • Contribute to the growth of the assigned Line of Business by analyzing target markets, competitor insights, and industry trends.
  • Utilize systems for precise data entry and comprehensive reporting.
  • Collaborate with various business units to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Track performance metrics for the Line of Business and recommend necessary corrective measures.
  • Advocate for Travelers' Line of Business, distribution strategy, and underwriting principles.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in a relevant field.
  • In-depth understanding of industry operations and financial factors.
  • Experience in underwriting within Lloyd's or company markets.
  • ACII qualification is preferred.
