Insurance Underwriting Analyst

Wiser Academy is a specialist underwriting agency that insures various risks connected to M&A. This is a role within the London office to assist the underwriting team, who are mainly former lawyers or accountants, providing a great opportunity to learn from highly experienced professionals.

We are a team of insurance underwriters who analyze, price, and assume risk on a daily basis. As an Underwriting Analyst, you will support the underwriters with their workload on M&A transactions. Such transactions are confidential and vary from the sale of e-commerce businesses, commercial real estate to video games designers and specialist manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-underwriting technical analysis and support to the underwriters.
  • Carry out administrative tasks, including data entry of transaction details into our online underwriting system.
  • Create data analytics reports for the management team.
  • Prepare invoices for clients and assist the Finance Director on accounting tasks.
  • Assist in the drafting of contract wordings.
  • Build good working relationships with brokers, including regular communications.
  • Attend networking events to develop knowledge.
  • Assist on live underwriting projects.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and ask questions when unsure or need help.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Be keen to study towards ACII insurance qualifications.
  • A genuine interest to pursue a career within the insurance sector.
  • Commercial awareness and a personal interest in the world of business.
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
