Position Overview:
As an Underwriting Analyst at Bell & Clements, you will be an integral part of the Managed Underwriting department, reporting directly to the Senior Underwriting Management Analyst. Your role will involve providing critical analysis that enhances all underwriting functions within the company and supports informed underwriting decisions. Key responsibilities include evaluating contract performance, assisting in the development of underwriting strategies, and engaging in a hybrid working model.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis for Managed Underwriting, focusing on both the overall portfolio and specific proposals.
- Contribute actively to the formulation of underwriting strategies.
- Provide essential statistics to support contract renewals and annual underwriting strategies.
- Collaborate with IT, various units of MRSI, and external partners on data and analysis initiatives as needed.
- Engage with clients to optimize the performance of their contracts.
Your Qualifications:
Essential:
- Demonstrated professional experience in an analytical capacity.
- Familiarity with insurance statistics.
- Possess an analytical mindset with the ability to think innovatively.
- Proficient in Excel.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of SQL for database querying.
- Experience with Tableau is advantageous.
- Background in underwriting support roles.
- Exposure to the US property insurance sector.
