Company Overview: Avencia Consulting Services is representing a prominent Bespoke & Specialty Insurer that is enhancing its Underwriting division.

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Underwriting Performance Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is fully on-site and is open to candidates with experience in data analysis tools such as Power BI and SQL, regardless of their background in the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure high standards of data quality, analysis, and management information.
  • Deliver timely, precise, and comprehensive reporting of data.
  • Enhance data quality by coordinating with underwriting functions and providing necessary updates.
  • Support the Head of Management Information and business partners in underwriting.
  • Develop customized analytical tools for Underwriting staff to assess their portfolios and report findings to management.
  • Oversee the integration of underwriting data into the Prequel underwriting system to maintain accuracy.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly forecasting and annual planning using the Anaplan system.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and advancement of the Management Information reporting suite.
  • Manage ongoing Data Quality issues and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of analytical models and dashboards for various business functions.
  • Identify and document existing analytics gaps and translate them into actionable business requirements.
  • Maintain a Data Quality Issues Log and oversee remediation activities.
  • Partner with Technical Operations and IT to enhance data collection accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that changes resulting from data quality issues are documented and controlled.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  • Facilitate communication between the Underwriting function and its stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to Data Quality and Integrity.
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI or similar data visualization tools is preferred.

This role is essential for driving data excellence within the organization and ensuring that our underwriting processes are supported by accurate and reliable information.
