Position Overview: The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications for the role of People Services Administrator. This position is available on both a permanent and temporary basis, offering full-time opportunities with a commitment of 35 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities: The successful candidates will join a dedicated team within the People Directorate, playing a crucial role in the development and execution of SFRS People Services activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering and processing job vacancies, promotional campaigns, and selection processes through the Services' electronic recruitment portal.
  • Handling administrative tasks related to vacancy creation, application shortlisting, selection testing, and interview scheduling.
  • Maintaining and updating SFRS systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with standard guidelines for effective reporting and governance.

Transactional Services Support: You will provide essential administrative support for various People transactional services, including:

  • Discipline & Grievance processes
  • Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption arrangements
  • Contract Variations and Career Breaks
  • Flexible Working, Resignations, and Retirements

Modern Apprentice Programme: Additionally, you will assist in the administration of the Modern Apprentice Programme and SVQ Centre functions, ensuring efficient support for all aspects of SFRS MA SVQ activities.

Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Experience in a busy administrative environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and flexibility to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Legislation and experience handling confidential data
  • Proficiency in IT applications, particularly Office software

Working Conditions: The standard working week for support staff is 35 hours, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid working pattern requiring office attendance one day per week.
