Key Responsibilities

As a prominent District General Hospital (DGH), we cater to the healthcare needs of the Medway and Swale populations. Our children's emergency department witnesses over 30,000 visits annually from infants, children, and young individuals in the local community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for newborns and a commitment to enhancing their expertise in the field of neonatology. It is anticipated that you will eventually engage in the specialized training program to equip you for the care of infants requiring intensive medical attention.

You will play a vital role in advocating for Family Integrated Care, ensuring its implementation at all times.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will receive support from Clinical Nurse Educators, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and Governance Managers, alongside a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team. We offer in-house leadership programs and collaborate with various universities to facilitate your academic progression and career development.

You will be responsible for delivering clinical practice within designated areas, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based nursing assessments, care planning, implementation, interventions, and evaluations for patients from admission to discharge.

You will apply your knowledge across various work procedures and practices, grounded in theoretical understanding and practical experience.

Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care delivery while adhering to NHS standards and relevant guidelines.

Ensure that patients receive exceptional clinical care and a positive experience, considering their customs, religious beliefs, and doctrines.

Qualifications

Essential

RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register

Knowledge

Familiarity with the NMC Code of professional standards of practice and behavior for nurses and midwives Ability to use initiative and make decisions
