Key Responsibilities

As a vital part of our District General Hospital, which serves the Medway and Swale communities, you will engage with a busy children's emergency department that sees over 30,000 young patients annually.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in neonatal care and a commitment to developing expertise in this specialized field. You will be expected to pursue specialized training to provide care for infants requiring intensive medical attention.

Your role will also involve promoting Family Integrated Care, ensuring that this approach is consistently implemented.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will receive support from Clinical Nurse Educators, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and Governance Managers, along with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team. We offer in-house leadership programs and collaborate with various universities to facilitate your academic and professional growth.

You will be responsible for delivering clinical practice within designated areas, ensuring that high-quality, evidence-based nursing assessments, care planning, implementation, interventions, and evaluations are provided from admission to discharge.

Your role will require the application of knowledge across various procedures and practices, supported by both theoretical understanding and practical experience.

As an advocate for patients, you will ensure a patient-centered approach to care delivery, meeting the standards outlined in the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.

It is crucial that patients receive exceptional clinical care and a positive experience, respecting their customs, religious beliefs, and values.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN1/RN2/RN12) or Registered Nurse for Children on the NMC register

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the NMC Code of professional standards of practice and behavior for nurses and midwives
  • Ability to use initiative and make informed decisions

Experience
