Night Nursing Team Supervisor
Position Overview
Are you an experienced registered nurse with strong communication abilities and proficient clinical evaluation skills? Do you have a commitment to providing comprehensive support to patients, enabling them to transition from hospital to home effectively and minimizing the likelihood of readmissions? Are you capable of leading a nursing team with empathy and inclusivity?
If you resonate with these qualities, this role may be ideal for you.
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Night Nursing Team Supervisor to join our dedicated night nursing unit.
This is a permanent position at Band 6, designed for a motivated and committed registered nurse with significant experience in community healthcare. This role offers a chance to thrive in a nurturing environment as a Team Supervisor, enhancing your skills in patient evaluation and care while contributing to the leadership of the team.
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across the community nursing service, with a primary focus on the night nursing operations, which function from 7 PM to 7 AM, every day of the year. The night team serves the entire community, providing essential nursing services alongside other out-of-hours professionals. Registered nurses collaborate with healthcare assistants to ensure safe and effective overnight care. Some daytime responsibilities may be necessary to support your professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve assisting the Clinical Lead in coordinating and delivering care in accordance with local and national community nursing strategies. Specific duties include:
- Evaluating new and complex patient cases
- Conducting thorough senior nurse assessments of patients in their homes and other community settings
- Collaborating as part of a broader multidisciplinary team
- Facilitating the training and development of new staff within the service
- Fostering team growth through leadership and exemplary role modeling
- Managing staffing schedules and assigning clinical tasks
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with all clinical personnel, patients, and their families
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work contracted hours across both day and night shifts, as required by service demands. The individual should exhibit professional leadership and a passion for patient care, with the capability to solve problems and adapt to challenging circumstances, manage resources effectively, and ensure the provision of safe, personalized, and efficient patient care. We seek a nurse dedicated to delivering high-quality care and who can constructively challenge practices to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
