Position Overview

East Lancashire Hospice is a charitable organization dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, along with support for their families and loved ones.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Clinical Nurse Specialist to become a vital member of our supportive Inpatient Unit Team. The successful candidate will be tasked with the comprehensive assessment, planning, and evaluation of tailored care programs, ensuring that all care delivery adheres to established regulations and best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining precise documentation, participating in relevant meetings, and collaborating with external healthcare professionals. Given the sensitive nature of our services, the ability to prioritize your workload and guide the responsibilities of others based on patient needs is essential, ensuring that all patients and their families receive exemplary care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Exhibiting outstanding standards in assessment, care planning, and evaluation of interventions to meet the needs and preferences of individuals utilizing hospice services.
  • Demonstrating substantial experience in a caregiving role, particularly with patients facing life-limiting conditions.
  • Utilizing effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team and to engage empathetically with those experiencing significant health challenges.
  • Providing support to patients at the end of life, ensuring they can maximize their quality of life during their time in our care.
  • Contributing to a high-performing team that takes pride in delivering exceptional care, fostering a supportive culture.

Compensation and Benefits

In line with recent pay adjustments, the salary for this position ranges from £34,167 to £35,603, depending on experience, inclusive of enhancements from the start date. The role involves a rostered schedule, including weekends, bank holidays, and night shifts. You will have the option to continue contributing to the NHS pension scheme or to enroll in our private contributory pension plan.
