Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Integrated Respiratory Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
- Education and Training: Ensure effective systems and processes are in place to facilitate the education and training of non-specialist staff and students.
- Patient Assessment and Support: Assess patients who require oxygen therapy, providing advice and support to ensure safety and supporting patients where oxygen is no longer required.
- Interprofessional Collaboration: Advise and support other health professionals, patients, and carers to improve the care of patients with respiratory conditions.
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Promote, support, and assist in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation services for patients.
- Clinical Input: Provide specialist clinical input to the Outpatient Clinics within the Respiratory Directorate.
- Procedure Review and Update: Ensure that all existing procedures and protocols relating to the care of patients are reviewed and updated as required.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship to students as we are a teaching area for Student nurses.
Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to demonstrate a problem-solving approach to their work and is flexible to work across the pathways of care within clinical settings. A car driver is essential due to the wide geographical area covered by the service.
