Position Overview:

In the role of Trading Applications Specialist at Squarepoint Capital, you will collaborate with a global team of exceptional technologists, focusing primarily on ensuring the reliability and stability of our trading services. You will gain an in-depth understanding of financial markets, merging this knowledge with robust technical skills to support systematic trading applications and other essential software.

This position entails significant responsibility, as you will take charge of incident management and root cause analysis through process enhancements. Trading Applications Specialists foster continuous innovation by automating and optimizing our daily operations. In this capacity, you will learn how we handle application outages and mitigate their adverse effects on our extensive global trading operations.

Typical Responsibilities:

Conduct readiness checks prior to the market opening to ensure a seamless start, addressing any issues that arise. Monitor trading applications and execution strategies, utilizing our proprietary observability frameworks. Perform post-trade evaluations and resolve reporting discrepancies. Employ your analytical skills to manage outages affecting the trading environment, minimizing production downtime. Engage in a variety of projects, including onboarding new applications, services, and products into the production environment, or developing tools and scripts to automate operational tasks.

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Up to 4 years of experience in a similar environment, either on the buy or sell side. Proficiency in Linux, Python, and Bash. Familiarity with at least one of the following asset classes: equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc. Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work within a global team. A strong desire to continuously learn new technologies and grow with us. A curious mindset driven by the challenge of solving new problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with kdb+/q, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with the FIX protocol. Understanding of TCP/IP concepts.

The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates' compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
