Role Overview:
In the capacity of a Trading Applications Specialist at Squarepoint, you will collaborate with a global team of exceptional technologists, primarily focused on ensuring the reliability and stability of our trading services. You will cultivate a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, integrating this knowledge with robust technical skills to support systematic trading applications and other essential software.
This position entails significant responsibility, as you will oversee incident management and implement root cause analysis through process enhancements. Trading Applications Specialists foster continuous innovation by automating and optimizing our daily operations. In this role, you will gain insights into how we manage application outages and mitigate their adverse effects on our extensive global trading operations.
Daily Responsibilities:
Conduct readiness checks prior to the market opening to ensure a seamless start, addressing any issues that arise. Monitor trading applications and execution strategies using our proprietary observability tools. Perform post-trade evaluations and resolve any reporting discrepancies. Utilize your analytical skills to manage outages affecting the trading environment, minimizing production downtime. Engage in a variety of projects, including onboarding new applications, services, and products into the production environment, or developing tools and scripts to automate operational tasks.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Up to 4 years of experience in a comparable environment, either on the buy side or sell side. Proficiency in Linux, Python, and Bash. Familiarity with at least one of the following asset classes: equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc. Outstanding communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a global team. A strong desire to continuously learn new technologies and grow with the organization. A curious mindset driven by the challenge of solving new problems.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with kdb+/q, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with the FIX protocol. Understanding of TCP/IP concepts.The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000. This figure is based on available information at the time of posting. The position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could represent a significant portion of total compensation. Additionally, this role may qualify for benefits, including health, dental, and wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Compensation and benefits for successful candidates will be determined based on various factors.
