Role Overview:

As a Trading Applications Specialist at Squarepoint Capital, you will be part of a global team of outstanding technologists focused on ensuring the reliability and stability of our trading services. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, merging this insight with robust technical skills to support systematic trading applications and other essential software.

This position comes with significant responsibilities, including ownership of incident management and root cause analysis through process enhancements. Trading Applications Specialists are pivotal in driving continuous innovation through automation and optimization of our daily operations. In this role, you will learn how we manage application outages and mitigate their adverse effects on our extensive global trading operations.

Daily Responsibilities:

Conduct readiness checks before the market opens to ensure a seamless start of trading, addressing any issues that arise. Monitor trading applications and execution strategies using our proprietary observability tools. Perform post-trade checks and resolve any reporting discrepancies. Utilize your analytical skills to manage outages affecting the trading environment, minimizing production downtime. Engage in various projects, including onboarding new applications, services, and products into the production environment, or developing tools and scripts to automate operational tasks.

Required Qualifications:

A degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Up to 4 years of experience in a similar environment, either on the buy-side or sell-side. Proficiency in Linux, Python, and Bash. Familiarity with at least one of the following asset classes: equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a global team. A strong desire to continuously learn new technologies and grow with the firm. A curious mindset driven by the challenge of solving new problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with kdb+/q, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with the FIX protocol. Understanding of TCP/IP concepts.

The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. The role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could represent a significant portion of total compensation. Additionally, this position may offer benefits such as health, dental, and wellness plans, along with 401(k) contributions. Compensation and benefits for successful candidates will be determined based on various factors.
