Job Title: Adult Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an experienced nurse with great clinical skills to join our team as an Adult Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurse. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing and support services for adults with sickle cell, thalassaemia, and other haemoglobinopathies in community care settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-quality, expert nursing care and support for patients and their families/carers with haemoglobinopathies trait/disease.
  2. Deliver evidence-based individualised patient care according to patient's changing health care needs.
  3. Work autonomously and seek collaborative relationships with others across and within professional boundaries.
  4. Provide expert knowledge and advice in own specialist area, ensuring maintenance of clinical excellence underpinned by evidence-based practice.
  5. Work with the multidisciplinary team and management team to ensure that the service complies with the national standards for safety, quality, and ensure the service complies with the key performance indicators aligned with the NHS England Sickle Cell Improvement Programme.

The successful candidate will be based at the Brent Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Centre, Central Middlesex Hospital, and will work closely with the wider community haemoglobinopathy teams, including Central London Community Health Trust and the Haemoglobinopathy Co-ordinating Centre at Imperial NHS Trust to provide an integrated service across NWL ICB.

This is a new post to support the delivery of NHS England Pan-London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme, through West London ICB with investment into improving haemoglobinopathy services in primary and secondary care at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post is a fixed-term contract for 24 months.
