About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality food and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Chef Manager and manage every aspect of catering within the location, delivering a quality catering service.
- Supervise the catering assistants on shift, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties to the highest standard.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and health & safety procedures, ensuring that our kitchen is a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
- Minimise waste when preparing meals and use equipment correctly, ensuring that our kitchen is run efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
- Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater craft or similar award.
- Health & safety legislation including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
- Proven chef and people management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality food and service.
- Basic knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people, including special diets and allergies.
- Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives and other cooking appliances.
Skills and Qualities
- Able to negotiate, influence, organise time and prioritise activities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work in a pressured environment and produce meals based on implemented menus, with a high level of attention to detail and quality.
- Flexible, innovative and able to work as part of a team and individually, with a positive and proactive attitude.
