About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager (Catering) to join our team at Anchor Hanover. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for managing every aspect of catering within our location and delivering a high-quality catering service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Chef Manager, overseeing the entire catering operation and ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Supervise catering assistants on shift, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service standards.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and health & safety procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
  • Minimise waste when preparing meals and use equipment correctly, promoting sustainability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater craft or similar award.
  • Health & safety legislation including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
  • Proven chef and people management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Basic knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people, with a focus on providing tailored and inclusive services.
  • Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives, with a focus on efficiency and safety.

  • Able to negotiate, influence, organise time, and prioritise activities, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment, producing high-quality meals based on implemented menus.
  • Flexible, innovative, and able to work as part of a team and individually, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
