Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Ayrshire Central Hospital on a fixed-term/secondment basis.

This role is designed for a Clinical Psychologist to aid in the foundational development of an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service within Ayrshire & Arran. The position collaborates closely with Nursing and Administrative colleagues, providing clinical leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

This role offers a chance to shape the service with support from the Head of Psychological Specialty and Senior Manager, establishing clear clinical pathways, partnerships, and safe operational models. A crucial aspect will be to enhance connections with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and engage with partners across other boards, in addition to managing internal relationships with established services.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess post-graduate doctoral level training (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology accredited by the BPS, covering specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and two or more distinct psychological therapies, alongside lifespan developmental psychology.

Advanced specialist knowledge and practical experience gained through post-doctoral training, continuous professional development, and supervision in additional specialist areas of psychological practice are essential.

This position will be based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, but Psychological Services operate across Ayrshire, necessitating occasional travel to other locations.

Working Hours:

The role requires 22.3 hours per week, scheduled Monday to Friday afternoons.
