About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our registered nurses in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of personal care activities, clinical care tasks, and other duties as delegated by and in support of a registered nurse.
  • Work collaboratively with the registered nurse to review patient care plans and perform necessary aspects of care within your scope of clinical practice.
  • Competently perform patient care tasks, recording care delivery and reporting back to the registered nurse.
  • Support and supervise patients as required, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • SVQ3 in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent knowledge gained through experience, on-the-job training, and/or short courses.
  • Ability to demonstrate a range of core skills to competently undertake patient care and other tasks and activities.
  • Initiative and ability to work without direct supervision as required, on a daily basis.
  • Awareness, understanding, and compliance with policies and practices, such as the Escort Policy, Prevention and Control of Infection, and Health and Safety.
  • Completion of in-house training programs as required.
  • Understanding and compliance with HCSW mandatory induction standards and code of conduct.
  • Completion and maintenance of statutory and mandatory learning activities.
Working Hours

37 hours per week, with the possibility of flexible working arrangements to meet the needs of the service.
