We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist to become a vital member of our Pharmacy team at Practice Plus Group.

In this position, you will have the chance to deliver exceptional healthcare services to our patients, ensuring both efficiency and quality are maintained at the highest levels.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday

Three shifts from 07:30 to 18:00 and one shift from 07:30 to 15:30

Weekend shifts

07:30 to 18:00

You will be expected to work one weekend every four weeks.

Part-time hours may be considered.

This role is full-time, offering an annual salary of up to £38,115 per annum FTE, based on your experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist, your duties will include:

  • Assisting in the provision and delivery of a comprehensive, safe, and legal pharmaceutical service within the prison system.
  • Collaborating within the healthcare department, engaging directly with patients as part of a holistic healthcare approach tailored to the needs of the prison.
  • Upholding the highest standards of care in accordance with National Guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher, BTEC, or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Current knowledge of Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in pharmacy

While not mandatory, experience in a hospital, community, or prison setting is preferred.

Responsibilities Summary

As a GPHC registered Pharmaceutical Care Specialist with Practice Plus Group, you will:

Deliver exceptional, patient-centered care by actively seeking and responding to patient feedback to ensure personalized care. Focus on providing a secure and efficient medicines management service, maintaining patient medical records to the highest standards and adhering to established procedures.

Provide non-judgmental care within the framework of professional standards, which includes timely medication administration and cost-effective prescribing as per our health in justice medicines policy. Your role will be pivotal in a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Foster excellence by building strong relationships within our teams, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a service that is trustworthy, safe, and a source of pride for all involved. Collaborate to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to perform their best work.

Advocate for best practices, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, fostering a culture of shared learning. Communicate complex or sensitive information with empathy and understanding to patients.

Share knowledge regarding pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimens, legislation, and general health education to ensure the multidisciplinary healthcare team is well-informed.
