Lead Pharmacy Technician Opportunity

Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital and Cancer Centre London is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to lead our pharmacy team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Supervise and lead a team of pharmacy technicians and assistants, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Coordinate staff schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow within the pharmacy department.
  • Dispensing and Distribution:
    • Oversee the accurate dispensing and distribution of medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor medication inventory levels across the hospital, ordering supplies as needed and maintaining appropriate stock levels to meet patient demand.
  • Quality Governance and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain quality governance procedures to ensure the safety, efficacy, and integrity of pharmaceutical products and services.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including those set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the pharmacy department, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
    • Actively participate in departmental meetings, committees, and projects aimed at improving patient care, safety, and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Minimum of 2 years hospital pharmacy experience
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a pharmacy setting is desirable but not essential
