Position Overview

In response to a comprehensive evaluation of our Student Support Services, Durham University has initiated the establishment of Student Support Hubs across our academic faculties. We are looking for a dedicated Academic Support Coordinator to assist in executing our strategic vision for an exceptional student experience and to deliver academic support within the Faculty of Science. These hubs will serve as essential resources for students, offering guidance and assistance to those facing challenges in their academic journey, ensuring they receive timely and consistent support for their educational development.

The successful candidate will engage directly with students in various academic departments, collaborating with Learning and Teaching teams and academic personnel in key student-facing roles to proactively identify and assist students who may require additional support. This role also involves providing advice to both staff and students regarding the University's policies, regulations, and wellbeing support processes.

Role Responsibilities

Service Delivery

Planning and Organizing
  • Effectively manage and prioritize workload to meet role requirements.
  • Plan and execute projects and events in alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Solicit feedback to continuously improve service delivery.
Communication and Liaison
  • Engage in meetings and committees to enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote inclusive initiatives.
  • Act as a primary contact for student support inquiries.
