Position Overview

We are excited to announce several openings within our innovative Multispecialty Virtual Ward, developed in collaboration with our partners in the healthcare sector. This service is designed to enhance patient care by enabling individuals to receive necessary support and medical interventions in the comfort of their own homes.

The Virtual Ward represents a forward-thinking approach to healthcare, aiming to improve patient outcomes, minimize hospital stays, and ensure that hospital resources are available for acute cases.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our new service. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating across both hospital and community settings to deliver care at home.

The successful candidate will take on significant responsibilities, including:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care within a community framework.
  • Leading and coordinating clinical, managerial, and educational aspects of the service, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of nursing practice.
  • Safeguarding the wellbeing of service users while promoting dignity and human rights through person-centred care principles.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Virtual Services Team Manager and serving as a role model for junior staff in delivering exemplary nursing care.

A valid driving license is a prerequisite for this position.

Experience and Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in community or ward settings, particularly with patients who have complex needs.
  • Proven ability to teach, assess, and supervise others in a clinical environment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SystmOne or BTHFT IT systems.
  • Experience in team management, including rota management and staff competency assessments.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Capability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care programs.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Competence in managing challenging situations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Electronic Patient Records.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Understanding of Information Governance and confidentiality protocols.
  • Current knowledge of clinical and professional issues.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices.
  • Insight into resource management and clinical governance.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse status.
  • A BSc or equivalent qualification in a health-related field.
  • Mentorship or teaching qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
