About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Worker Apprentice to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Peer Support Worker Apprentice, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges to achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support to service users, drawing upon your own lived experience to inspire hope, offer empathy, empowerment, confidence building, and validate their feelings.
  • Build relationships founded on the value of mutuality, facilitating the provision of regular and practical support to service users in developing and managing independence and maintaining dignity and self-respect.
  • Positively promote independent living of service users through role-modelling individual recovery journeys.
  • Use your skills and experience to support clients to share and represent themselves appropriately, and to build and maintain a strong working relationship with their prospective employer.
Requirements
  • Able to offer specialist support using your personal experience of recovery.
  • Able to use your own initiative when appropriate.
  • Able to develop and maintain sound working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
