Victim Assistance Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Victim Assistance Coordinator to provide crucial support to individuals affected by crime. This position involves a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and offers the flexibility of home-based work with necessary travel throughout the designated area.

Role Overview:

This position entails managing a diverse caseload and ensuring that each individual receives personalized support tailored to their unique circumstances. The role requires conducting thorough risk and needs assessments while adhering to established safeguarding protocols.

As a Victim Assistance Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

Effectively managing a caseload of clients. Providing tailored support and information services to each victim. Conducting risk assessments and identifying individual needs. Following safeguarding policies and procedures diligently. Offering advocacy to help clients navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system. Identifying barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing services. Collaborating with a team to reflect the diverse needs of the community. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders. Keeping accurate and confidential records of casework.

Required Qualifications:

A solid understanding of the impact of crime on victims. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A proven history of delivering effective services. Competency in using standard IT applications. Knowledge of equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusivity practices. Ability to prioritize and balance competing needs. Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries. Understanding of confidentiality requirements. Experience in building productive relationships with various stakeholders. Proven experience in managing a caseload effectively. Familiarity with outcome-focused working principles. Knowledge of risk and needs assessment frameworks.
