About the Role:

As a Victim Awareness Officer, you will play a crucial role in planning and delivering training and awareness-raising activities to support victims of crime. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Thames Valley Police, and other statutory agencies and third sector organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness about victims of crime, with a focus on emerging areas of need.
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop content to meet those needs.
  • Lead the development of training materials and ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Maximize the use of social media to promote training, victim awareness, and awareness of specific crime types, such as sexual violence and modern-day slavery.
  • Attend events and presentations to engage with the local community and increase their knowledge about support for victims of crime.
  • Recruit and support a cohort of trained volunteers to perform the roles of Criminal Justice Champions and Engagement Champions.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexibly to accommodate training requirements.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and structured training programs to diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication and IT skills.
  • Valid driving license and access to a car.
