We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firearms Licensing Administrative & Enquiry Officer to join our team in the Force Coordination and Operations Department at Northumbria Police.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and scrutinize Firearms Licensing applications, ensuring compliance with legislative guidelines.
  • Conduct home visits to interview applicants and certificate holders, assessing their suitability to possess firearms and inspecting storage and security facilities.
  • Evaluate and assess information to inform decision-making, identifying risk to public safety and taking timely action where required.
  • Provide specialist advice to internal and external customers on firearms legislation, application processes, and safe shooting practices.
  • Attend court as necessary and engage in continuous personal development through nationally recognized training courses.
