Job Description

Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Eden House, a designated Approved Premises for women. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to women who are reintegrating into the community after serving time in prison or as part of a community sentence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily structured living skills sessions, including leisure and creative activities, to support residents in developing essential life skills.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, enabling them to deal with problems and become independent.
  • Assist with the induction of new residents, ensuring their familiarity with the environment and understanding of rules and policies.
  • Maintain an active presence in the Approved Premises at all times during the shift, including undertaking regular inspections of the building.
  • Report any significant changes or key information relating to residents and escalate any matters of concern.
  • Act as Fire Warden and First Aider on duty.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files as required.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate empathy and the ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with good listening skills.
  • Input and maintain computer-based information systems in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Exercise authority and reinforce boundaries in an appropriate manner.
  • Work on own initiative and be able to cope with stressful situations.
