We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Pops Facades. As we embark on several prestigious projects in the North West, we are looking for a skilled professional to contribute to our growth and success. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum, along with additional benefits including a bonus, car allowance, and a mileage rate. Furthermore, there is a clear succession plan in place for the right candidate to advance to the position of commercial lead within the company.

About Pops Facades:
Pops Facades specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of various facade systems, including curtain walling, cladding, and glazing solutions, ranging from unitized systems to bespoke complex designs.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing the commercial aspects of projects from tendering through to delivery. The responsibilities include:

  • Tendering and Project Accounting:
    • Overseeing the tendering process and ensuring effective commercial administration.
    • Conducting thorough commercial and contractual reviews of tenders, proposing amendments, and negotiating terms to mitigate risks.
    • Administering contracts and managing project finances.
  • Reporting:
    • Completing monthly reviews of contract performance and results.
    • Managing costs to completion and preparing Cost Value Reports (CVRs) for selected projects.
  • Valuation and Cash Collection:
    • Ensuring timely submission of monthly claims and overseeing credit control.
    • Handling claims preparation, final account negotiations, and settlements.
  • Improvement and Governance:
    • Enhancing the underlying commercial, project accounting, and credit control systems.
    • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Ensuring quality assurance, administration, and compliance with accreditations.

Performance Metrics:
The success of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be measured by:

  • Tendering success rates, margin projections, and backlog sales.
  • Cash collection efficiency and days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Effective contract administration and management of business risks.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Essential:
    • A degree or equivalent qualification with relevant experience in a similar role.
    • A customer-focused, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Extensive contractual knowledge and experience with various contract conditions.
    • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with relevant software.
    • Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities, capable of effective communication across all levels.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Desirable:
    • Membership in RICS or a similar professional body, or actively working towards it.
