Position: Senior Finance Manager

Location: Widnes area

Compensation: Up to £75k + bonus + benefits + excellent career advancement opportunities

Company Overview: TalentEdge is a dynamic, growth-oriented SME backed by private equity, committed to a robust 3-5 year expansion strategy. We are currently seeking a proficient second-in-command for our finance department to collaborate with the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer in driving strategic initiatives and growth while managing a team of five finance professionals. This role presents a unique opportunity for significant professional development and exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising daily financial operations and leading a small team of five.
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reporting packages while enhancing management information.
  • Engaging in budgeting, planning, and forecasting in partnership with various departments.
  • Overseeing the annual audit process and the preparation of statutory accounts, including corporation tax and VAT obligations.
  • Implementing continuous improvements in financial processes and controls.
  • Adopting a commercial mindset while collaborating with department heads to enhance financial performance, increase profitability, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conducting commercial analysis and presenting management information to non-financial stakeholders and the board.
  • Assisting the Finance Director with future initiatives, including the introduction of new systems and processes to support growth over the next few years.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of transactional and part-qualified finance staff.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified ACA, CIMA, or ACCA.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Background in stock, supply chain, retail, or e-commerce sectors is essential.
  • Proven experience in team management is required.
  • Strong commercial insight and a willingness to challenge existing practices.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau is desirable but not essential.
